At MHP/Team SI, we understand the importance of having a work-life balance. Being a mother is a job of its own, and we’re proud to offer a variety of resources that all of our employees can benefit from. Some of our benefits are especially helpful to the working moms on our team who juggle work and family, which has been a struggle for many since the COVID-19 pandemic began. We’ll discuss some of those valuable benefits below.
Flexible Schedules
Our employees have the option to work a flexible, hybrid schedule that includes working from home. The COVID-19 pandemic showed us just how quickly our world can be turned upside down, but our employees have proven just how dependable, resilient and flexible they really are over the last few years. It’s no secret that mothers have had to scramble to shuffle between work, online classes and childcare, sometimes with very little notice. Even though COVID-19 cases are declining, we still offer our employees a flexible schedule to make their lives easier and meet their unique needs. If a mom is home with a sick child or needs to take her loved one to an appointment, she is free to stay at home and work remotely. She can also attend school-related events, such as holiday parties, without having to worry about rushing to the office right after. To put it simply, we trust our employees to get the job done without constantly looking over their shoulders and we believe that family comes first.
SWEAP Connections
Employees have access to SWEAP Connections for free counseling services, resource information, training, crisis response services and more. Balancing work and family responsibilities can be a challenge to moms, but SWEAP’s resources include articles, interactive tools, calculators, self-assessments and more to help employees navigate the world we live and work in. Their library of resources contains areas such as emotional well-being, work-life balance, alcohol and drug issues, family life, stress help and more. It’s impossible to pour from an empty cup, and we encourage our employees to take time to care for themselves and their mental health.
Short-Term Disability
Short-term disability is an employer-paid benefit available to all employees at MHP/Team SI. It provides a benefit of 60 percent of an employee’s weekly salary, up to $2,500 a week. This is particularly helpful to moms because it allows new mothers to take much-needed maternity leave to welcome their little one(s) to the family. Childbirth is a beautiful thing, and all new moms deserve ample time to recover, rest and bond with their babies without the stress of feeling rushed to return to work.
Parental Leave
At MHP/Team SI, all full-time employees who have been employed at the agency for at least two years are eligible for paid parental leave. Parental leave is especially helpful because employees are able to use it after their short-term disability leave expires. It entitles the employee to two additional weeks of paid time off, and it can be used within one year following the birth or adoption of a child. While it’s obviously beneficial to new moms, new dads are also eligible for parental leave. We understand just how important it is for both parents to have the opportunity to take time off to welcome a new child to the family.
We have a lot of respect for all of the women on our team, and we’re celebrating each and every one of them this Women’s History Month! Thank you for everything you do to inspire, innovate and achieve. We appreciate everything you do!
